Support Growing Futures Early Education Center!
November 17th, 2016
Join us this holiday season as we help support the Growing Futures Early Education Center, the beneficiary of the 2016 Mayor's Holiday Tree Lighting event on Friday, November 18. Growing Futures, formerly Head Start of Shawnee Mission, is a not-for-profit organization providing quality early education opportunities and family support services for children in Johnson County, Kansas. Today Growing Futures serves over 250 low-income children and their families with Early Head Start and Head Start programs. In addition, they offer opportunities for any family to benefit from quality early education programming with competitive rates and no income eligibility requirements.
Growing Futures is required to raise over $300,000 in private/community dollars each year to meet matching requirements for federal grant funding, so every little bit helps! You can make a financial donation here, donate an item from the Center's wish list or take part in the Holiday Adoption Program:
Wish list items can be dropped off at the Mayor's Holiday Tree Lighting event on Friday, 11/18, or at the following Downtown OP retailers through the end of the year:
* Culinary Center of Kansas City
* Harper's Fabrics & Quilt Co.
* Images Art Gallery
* Sitzen upholstery & design
* Unique Finds Gifts
* The Upper Crust
* Vinyl Renaissance & Audio Overland Park and Aubrey Vineyards
Donations (wish list items and financial contributions) can also be dropped off at the Downtown Overland Park Partnership office at 7315 West 79th Street between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
