StayingIndieGEW

Join us for “Stay Indie: (Making a Do-able Cashflow Plan to Keep Your Freelancing Gig Alive)”, a one-hour course taught by Joe Gauer of Staying Indie Workshop. The course is a part of IUAH Global Entrepreneurship Week events and will cover creating a plan that’s tailored for what YOU want in your career (not for what you “ought to be doing”), and creative ways to bring in income without distracting you from your creative mission.

Staying Indie is a consulting practice serving self-employed creatives in the Kansas City metro region. We educate this phenomenal local community of illustrators, musicians, painters, craftsmen, dancers, actors, photographers, writers, and other fledgling to mid-career freelancers on the ways they can sustainably afford self-employment– while considering the contingencies needed to help them stay in the game.

Our mission is to not just help you become self-employed — but to STAY self-employed!

GE-WEEK

Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people in more than 160 countries through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.

indiejoe2Joe graduated from University of Missouri in 2006, having studied marketing, finance and film.

Prior to forming Staying Indie, Joe spent eight years at the Morgan Stanley Plaza branch office, where he worked as a marketing analyst and licensed advisor for his father’s financial practice.

Joe helps creative entrepreneurs throughout the area on their long-term savings efforts, counseling them on their cashflow goals with an emphasis on budgeting and income source management.

He and his wife Kathryn and 3-year-old twins live in Northtowne, and are natives of the Northland area.  In his spare time, he writes and shoots independent short films.
