Overland Park Funeral Chapel

Choosing a funeral home can be an overwhelming decision, especially at an emotional time. That’s why it is important to know that there really is a difference. Overland Park Chapel was built by the Newcomer Family and opened in 1963 at 8201 Metcalf Avenue to serve the community and county. Today, we continue to provide families with quality, compassionate care. Our expert arrangers at Overland Park Chapel offer families strength and comfort during their time of loss.

At Overland Park Chapel, we stand with families before, during and after the loss. We guide families through the process of creating memorable and meaningful events that honor and pay tribute to the unique life. No matter how elaborate or how simple we can custom tailor the memorial event to the specific wants and needs of any family and any budget. Our iconic facility’s interior was completely restored in its original mid century design at the end of 2016. The restoration allowed for a transformation from traditional funeral chapel to a bright and welcoming event space.

Coronavirus Update

Based on the 30-day shelter-in-place order, we have decided to postpone all of our events and programming for the next four weeks (through 04/23).

We will continue to provide updates via social media and our website, but for now, know that your friends in Downtown Overland Park are hard at work collaborating on best practices with our partners in the community.

Keep in mind, many DOP businesses are keeping their doors open, and they depend on YOU for support. If you are well, consider grabbing your lunch to-go from a local restaurant. Or, shop online at your favorite downtown retailer. The Downtown Overland Park neighborhood is known for its strong sense of community. Let’s flex those kind muscles and lift each other up in this time of need.
